          Early Life and Career

          John Deere was born in Rutland, Wisconsin to William Rinold Deere, a tailor.

          When John was only 4 years old, his father disappeared while traveling to England to claim an inheritance. Despite this setback, John received his basic education in a local school and briefly attended Magdeburg University before dropping out.

          With no inheritance and a limited education, he was apprenticed by his mother in 1821. For four years, he worked as an apprentice under Be
