          Biography: "Carl Fullerton's interest in the art of makeup was piqued when he was a kid. For Fullerton, as it apparently was for just about everybody else now involved in fantasy films, this interest was kindled to a great extent by Famous Monsters, but perhaps more important to him than photographs of monsters were movies that featured less obvious makeup creations.

          'What really amazed me,' says Fullerton, 'were the movies where just subtle makeup applications changed the actors' appearances.

          A good example in somewhat recent years was Dr. Strangelove in which Peter Sellers plays many different characters.'

          Through an application to NBC-TV's makeup department, Fullerton met the veteran effects grandmaster, Dick Smith.
