          Maria Elisabete da Silva Duarte MatosGOIH OIH (born 6 September 1964[1]) is a Portuguesesoprano and politician.

          In January 2022 she was elected to the Portuguese Assembly of the Republic as a member of the Socialist Party, representing the Braga constituency.[2]

          Biography

          Elisabete Matos was born in 1964[1] in Caldas das Taipas, Guimarães,[3][4][5] Portugal and she began her first musical studies in at the Conservatório de Música Calouste Gulbenkian de Braga.

          On 1st October soprano Elisabete Matos took over as Artistic Director from the battered Brit, Patrick Dickie, a quixotic choice.

        1. Paulo Martins started his musical activity at Sociedade Artística Musical Fafense and Banda de Golães, later on began his formal studies at Academy of Music.

        3. He also graduated in Composition from the ESML – Music College of Lisbon, where he studied with António Pinho Vargas, João Madureira, Luís Tinoco and Sérgio.
        4. Bruno Almeida studied at the National Conservatory in Lisbon with Filomena Amaro and furthered his musical development with Isabel Biu.
        5. Firstly she started to study violin and then singing, alongside.

          After she finished the Conservatory, Matos won a scholarship from the renowned Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation which allowed her to finish her studies in Madrid, Spain.

          A second place in a European Singing Contest made her be noticed and her international career was launched by the roles of Donna Elvira in Mozart's opera D
